October 5-11, 2008 is…
National Royal Rangers Week & the 2nd Annual National Prayer Vigil
The first full week in October is National Royal Rangers Week. It is a great opportunity to feature Royal Rangers in your church by spotlighting the testimonies of the boys and young men who are being shaped into Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders by the ministry, by honoring and recruiting adult leaders, and by reaching into the community to attract new members.
The final two days of Rangers Week, October 10-11, is the National Prayer Vigil. We encourage boys and leaders alike to devote at least one hour to prayer within the 48-hour window. Click here to download the National Prayer Vigil Packet. Royal Rangers’ chief discipline is prayer. As John Bunyan instructed, “You can do more than pray, after you have prayed. But you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed.” Prayer gets us “ready” for what follows prayer—evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development.
Royal Rangers is a highly effective mentoring ministry! Adam Erwin’s story is representative of the tens of thousands of future men whose lives are being forged in Rangers each week across our nation. Click here to read Adam's testimony.
Many boys and young men have also realized life-changing personal growth as they progress along the advancement trail toward the Gold Medal of Achievement, the highest award a boy can earn in Royal Rangers. Click here to hear Andrew Graham’s testimony, the 100th boy to receive the GMA in Georgia.
As national commander, I salute the devotion of our 18,000+ Royal Rangers leaders who are dedicated week-in and week-out to evangelize, equip, and empower the next generation of Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders.
