Editor’s journey
A remarkable journey
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — For 13 years, I’ve had the high
honor of writing this column and serving as editor in chief of Today’s
Pentecostal Evangel. It has been a remarkable journey.
I am indebted to the leadership of the Assemblies of God for
their trust and the tremendous ministry opportunity afforded me. Through the
years, more than 20,000 people have written to us indicating they made a
decision to follow Jesus through reading the magazine.
Some years ago, my brothers and I launched Convoy of Hope.
It has since experienced explosive growth. To date, more than 20 million of the
world’s poor and suffering have received tangible help in the form of food,
drinking water, vitamins and other supplies. In addition, they’ve heard that
Jesus loves them.
Despite the heroic efforts of the magazine staff and the
team at Convoy of Hope — and the generosity and understanding of Assemblies of God leadership — it became increasingly difficult to lead
two ministries and be a great father to our four young daughters. Thus, this
will be my final column as editor in chief.
Thank you for reading Today’s Pentecostal Evangel. I’m fully
confident — with such a talented and Christlike staff in place —
that God will continue to use the magazine to encourage and equip believers and
to lead people to Jesus.
May God continue to guide your steps and work through you to
give others hope.
