Tough Demands

October 30, 2009

By Scott McChrystal

“But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into

the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe” (Acts 14:20, NIV).

Perseverance is an essential quality for success in the military. The mission often demands that we keep going no matter what. Victory rarely goes to the fainthearted.

The Christian life can make tough demands too. This verse tells us about the perseverance of the apostle Paul. He had just been stoned and left for dead outside the city of Lystra.

Did Paul give up? No way! After the disciples prayed for him, he got back up and went right back to face the crowd that had stoned him.

Are you facing a battle and feeling like giving up? Don't! Your struggle is nothing you and God can't handle.

Stay in the fight. Victory will come.
