Prayer
Partners

We all need friends to pray when
crisis comes into our lives. Asking people to pray for my needs comes hard for
me. I don’t want to bother people with my problems. I have to remind myself
that others can be blessed when they support me with their prayers. Just as I
have discovered, I receive the greatest blessings when I pray for others.
One of the most powerful examples
of people praying together for a common cause can be found in Daniel 2. King
Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon had threatened to kill all his counselors if no one
could interpret his dream. Daniel and his friends were on the execution list.
That period of crisis must have
clothed Daniel like a robe and pierced his heart like a dagger. After all, he
was most likely still in his teens, and exiled far from his home. Now his very
life was in danger.
What did he do?
Daniel asked his prayer partners
to pray, and God answered their prayers by revealing to Daniel that same night
in a vision the secret that saved their lives.
Certainly there are many times
for individual prayer in our lives. But God has also given us the privilege of
uniting with others in joint fellowship and prayer.
Joint prayers bombarded heaven
for Daniel’s request. God answered. What are you facing today? Ask a trusted
fellow believer to join you in prayer. You will see the miraculous take place.
