Network for Women in Ministry site expands

By Connie Cross

For over six years, Assemblies of God women in ministry have had a place where they have been informed, supported and inspired for ministry — the Network for Women in Ministry Web site, www.womeninministry.ag.org. The Web site provides regular, original content for women ministers of all ages, including those in traditional and nontraditional ministries, bivocational ministers and those preparing to enter ministry work.

The Web site resources have been expanded in several areas. The newest addition is a forum, allowing site visitors to ask questions, respond to site content and network with one another.

Video and audio resources have also been added. These include video sessions from the Network’s last national event, Conversations ‘08, in Phoenix, Arizona. Audio files of speakers from past Women in Ministry events are now under the resource section of the Web site. Also new to this section are many articles, including several specifically for pastors’ wives, providing knowledge and insight for their unique ministry challenges.

The Web site is a ministry of the Ministerial Enrichment Office and Enrichment journal. The content is coordinated by a team of women ministers that develops new theme material to be posted bimonthly. The team, led by Dr. Cheryl Taylor, writes articles, conducts interviews, provides book reviews and creates a variety of ministry and personal resources for fellow women in ministry.

Plans are to continue expanding the site’s offerings. “Maintaining fresh material for our women in ministry is essential, but now connecting and discussing are key elements of the Web site’s improvements. It is a place for interaction and exchanging of ideas,” says Dr. Gary R. Allen, director of Ministerial Enrichment.

Dr. Beth Grant, chairperson of the Network for Women in Ministry and member of the Web site team, confirms, “Our commitment is to share our resources and vision in the most effective way to strengthen women ministers in the Assemblies of God.”

Also offered is a biweekly e-newsletter, Women in Ministry Mobilized. The e-newsletter delivers fresh stories from women in various ministry fields, including pastoral and missional, with news items of interest to all women ministers in the Assemblies of God.

Subscribe to receive reports of site updates and upcoming Network for Women in Ministry national events, and to receive the biweekly e-newsletter at www.womeninministry.ag.org.

General Council attendees may also visit the Enrichment journal booths (737, 739, 836, 838) to subscribe.
