Prayer Force initiative

By Cecil Culbreth
Men’s Prayer Force is part of a prayer initiative for the youth and children of the United States. Three strategic areas to focus on are: (1) the campus; (2) the church; (3) the community — which includes the home.
For generations, men have been challenged to more fully impact these vital areas — campus (school), church and community — as they play such an influential part in children’s lives. Famed minister A. J. Gordon offered this timeless advice: “You can do more than pray after you have prayed, but you can never do more than pray until you have prayed.”
Men can become a part of the Men’s Prayer Force simply by their commitment to pray for the youth and children in their area. These prayers could be the most strategic ministry men implement as it relates to touching youth and children with the message of the gospel.
Following are suggestions for praying for youth/children in three strategic areas:
Campus: Adopt a school in the neighborhood. Pray for that school on a regular basis.
Church: Adopt a youth, children’s class or group in the church • Plan a “father/son” meal outing. Plan for interaction time and close with a time of prayer.
Community: Pray for all the youth and children that live in the area • Pray for those businesses that influence kids.
To initiate the Prayer Force ministry, invite male attendees to participate and reserve a little time in a Sunday morning service to explain the Prayer Force ministry.
