AG World Missions features new Web site design

By Miriam Testasecca
Assemblies of God World Missions has endeavored to communicate the passion, needs and worldwide scope of the Fellowship’s missions endeavors from its beginning. News items and articles from missionaries were printed in the first AG publications. As the Fellowship and missionary force grew, new ways developed to share missions information. Ministers and believers have relied on AGWM to articulate what God is doing overseas.
Several years ago, AGWM personnel developed a Web site. This new resource was a welcome addition, especially in the ever-expanding world of technology. To make the format easier to use, a redesigned site – worldmissions.ag.org – was launched December 3, 2008. Over the next several months, the site had a 29 percent increase in visitors.
The site features
- Videos from each region
- Stories and articles
- Missions news
- Downloadable photography
- Blogs
- An overview of each region
- The latest AGWM resource catalog
- A missionary directory complete with photos and bios
- Missions opportunities
- Missions statistics
- Links to specific AGWM ministry Web sites
Each aspect of the site gives greater insight to diverse cultures, the Assemblies of God worldwide fellowship and AGWM missionaries and ministries. New articles are posted several times each week, and previous articles are archived for reference. Action-packed videos give live updates of missionaries at work. Menu items — labeled Praying, Giving, Going and Resources — offer helpful information for every facet of missions in the local church. In a recent e-mail, one AG member said, “Words are inadequate to describe what a fantastic tool the Web site is.”
