Leila Ojala
Church Planter
Leila Nayeem Ojala grew up in a small town in Alabama. During her senior year of high school she sensed God's call to devote her life to leadership and went to Central Bible College. She graduated in 2001 and married her husband, Eric, two days later. They stayed in Springfield, Missouri where she attended the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and graduated with her Master of Arts in Theological Studies in May 2005. While in Springfield, they were surrounded with mentors and lots of space to consider what God intended for their future. That year, He made it clear to them.
Now, Eric and Leila colead a team of church planters to Summit County, Colorado. Their vision is to see the church value multiplication above addition and to make disciples that make disciples, so that through ordinary believers multiplying their lives in others, they can see people transformed. They have been in Summit County since May of 2008 and are beginning to see their passions of community and mission make an impact. Because it is such a transient community, people do not stay there permanently, and Eric and Leila believe this is an advantage in the kingdom of God. They dream of helping people come to know Christ, become disciple-makers, and then leave to plant simple, reproducible churches all over the world.
